The Sip Upkeep

the secret to a long relationship is proper maintenance

Today we'll teach you how to make sure that your reusables stay with you for as long as they can.

For your Steel Straws / Utensils

Stainless Straw

1. Cardinal rule: to handle others, you must first consider yourself. Wash utensil before initial use.

2. To ensure cleanliness, use dishwashing liquid.

3. For the insides of the straw that is tougher to reach, use a brush cleaner. You may get one here.

4. Allow utensil to dry before storage.

5. Keep away from damp environment.

For your Bamboo Utensils

1. Clean utensil before initial use.

2. For regular cleaning, you may use a sponge with dishwashing liquid to ensure cleanliness.

3. An additional step for bamboo utensils is to oil them once every 6 months to ensure longevity. You see, oil is like a moisturizer for bamboo utensils - it prevents them from warps or cracks.

The oil you use should be food grade and not prone to rancidity. Mineral oil is an inexpensive option that you can easily find in most kitchen supply stores so it's the safest choice.

4. Allow utensils to dry before storage. This is very important!

5. Keep away from damp environments.
